A couple of years ago, I was interviewed by Rick Barron for his podcast That’s Life, I Swear. And recently, we did another interview together which is live now!
Listen to it here.
Following our interview, Rick was kind enough to leave me a review. Here it is:
“I recently had the pleasure of sitting down with Mariah Bonner for her second appearance on my podcast — and once again, the conversation left a lasting impression.
We picked up her journey where it had blossomed anew: a fresh chapter of life unfolding in the vibrant beauty of Argentina, where her singing career is beginning to soar. Her voice, I have to say, is nothing short of enchanting — rich, warm, and utterly captivating, the kind that settles into your heart and stays there. And beyond the striking beauty that draws the eye, it's her wit and warmth that truly light up the room.
Throughout our conversation, Mariah opened up generously about this new life she's building. Every word she chose felt deliberate, weighted with meaning — her storytelling has a rare, distinctive rhythm all its own. She has this gift, this quiet magnetism, for drawing you deeper into the conversation until you find yourself hanging on every single word, unwilling to let a moment pass by.
It was, simply put, an unforgettable exchange.”
- Rick Barron, podcast host That’s Life, I Swear

Back in 2020, I started a YouTube video project called Mariah’s Morning Minutes. Every day I released a video of me singing a song acapella, and I reached one hundred videos.
I’ve resumed the project under the title Voice from the Valley and will put a video out once a week. The selection of songs will range from Argentine folklore, to Cuban boleros, French chansons, American Standards and more.

As you may know, the great composer Stephen Sondheim passed away recently, and tonight Broadway theatres dimmed their lights in his honor. Sondheim’s career spanned several decades and the tunes he left behind are some of the most iconic of the American theatre.
Earlier this year, I explored some of his works as part of my Art of Cabaret series on YouTube. Somewhere and Anyone Can Whistle are two of my favorites. I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Dream A Little Dream is a song written in 1931 by Gus Kahn, Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt. The French version, Les Yeux Ouverts (Eyes Open) was created by Enzo Enzo in 1990. In the summer of 2020, in the middle of the pandemic, I recorded it for my debut album At Last, the product of a two year collaboration with my pianist and composer Marcus Dagan. Dream A Little Dream is the opening number, and the subject of this short film.
My friend Katharina Baron directed the film with her unique flair. It stars myself, alongside Jerimiyah Dunbar, with cinematography by Maximilian Shmige and editing by Eric Tosstorff. We pulled the shoot together in just 24 hours, and filmed in Los Angeles at a friend’s house.
